Pain of Salvation is a Swedish progressive metal band featuring Daniel Gildenlöw, who is the lyricist, chief composer, guitarist, and lead vocalist. Their sound is characterised by powerful, accentuated guitar work, broad vocal range, abrupt switching between heavy and calm passages, intense syncopation, and polyrhythmic experimentation.

BE is Pain of Salvation's fifth studio album, released by InsideOutMusic in September 2004. It is a concept album focusing on the existence of God and humankind. BE attempts to explore the many facets of human existence.

Pain of Salvation is not on tour at the moment. And if you are from the good ol' USA you'll have to fly overseas to see them because they don't tour here (due to fingerprinting requirements and such). Since you can't see them live, check this out. Probably one of the best (most accurate) live performances I've seen.
